Tomasz Huzarski

Professor Tomasz Huzarski, habilitated doctor of medical sciences, is an expert in clinical genetics of cancer and pathomorphology.

He is a professor at the Institute of Medical Sciences of the Collegium Medicum of the University of Zielona Góra (UZ), as well as an assistant professor at the Department and Department of Pathomorphology of the Faculty of Medicine with the Department of Teaching in English at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

Achievements:

  • author of over 300 scientific articles,
  • 15th place among the most frequently cited Polish oncologists
  • pioneer of research in the field of genetic predisposition to cancer and its treatment.

From the beginning, his scientific career was associated with the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, where he gained professional experience since 1997.

The professor has published international articles on issues such as: ovarian, breast, pancreatic or stomach cancer. As a researcher, he combines medical and pharmaceutical sciences.

During his career, he played such important roles as:

  • Founder and consultant of Oncological Genetic Clinics in Poland
  • Member of the International Center for Hereditary Cancer, PUM in Szczecin
  • Head of the Department of Clinical Genetics and Pathomorphology, University of Zielona Góra
  • Chairman of the Institute of Medical Sciences, UZ

In the “Wellysa” application, he will be responsible for expert assessment of the occurrence of founder mutations in the studied population. Users will also be able to individually consult their results with him.
