Prof. Ph.D. n. med.
Professor Jacek Gronwald, habilitated doctor of medical sciences, is an expert in the field of clinical genetics and laboratory medical genetics.
He is a professor at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical Biotechnology and Laboratory Medicine, Department of Oncology).
Achievements:
- author of over 400 scientific articles
- winner of many state awards for scientific and research activities
- over 22 thousand citations, which puts him among the 15 Polish oncologists whose works are most frequently cited in the world
- pioneer of research determining the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and susceptibility to chemotherapy
From the beginning, his scientific career was associated with the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, where he gained professional experience since 1991.
During his career, he played such important roles as:
- Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Biotechnology and Laboratory Medicine (PUM in Szczecin)
- Provincial Consultant for Clinical Genetics
- Member of the Editorial Board of the international journal “Hereditary Cancer in Clinical Practice”
In the “Wellysa” application, he will be responsible for expert assessment of the occurrence of founder mutations in the studied population. Users will also be able to individually consult their results with him.
